Celebrating the Launch of Whānau Tahi's Wakahuia App

Today marks an exciting milestone for Whānau Tahi as we proudly launched the Wakahuia application, a new case management tool designed to empower kaimahi working in the community.

The Wakahuia app is a game-changer for frontline workers, allowing them to capture case notes, record key engagements, and manage activities seamlessly while on the go—without needing their laptops. By streamlining processes, the app reduces administrative overhead, giving kaimahi more time to focus on what truly matters: supporting our whānau.

Launching with Te Whānau o Waipareira

This afternoon, we celebrated the launch alongside the Te Whānau o Waipareira frontline team, who will be among the first to use Wakahuia in the field. Their dedication to whānau wellbeing inspires us, and we are excited to provide them with tools to make their mahi easier and more effective.

Acknowledging the Journey

At the celebration, Simon Reedy, CEO of Whānau Tahi, and Aroha Lewin, Senior Business Analyst, expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in bringing Wakahuia to life.

“Congratulations to all our teams who worked behind the scenes to make this happen,” said Simon. “Your hard work and collaboration have resulted in a solution that truly supports our kaimahi and whānau.”

Looking Ahead

The Wakahuia app reflects Whānau Tahi’s commitment to innovation and whānau-centered care. By enabling our teams to stay connected and capture vital information wherever they are, we’re not just reducing effort—we’re transforming how we serve our communities.

To our kaimahi: thank you for your ongoing dedication and feedback. Your insights are helping us ensure Wakahuia delivers real value to those who need it most.

Here’s to taking care of our whānau, one step—and one app—at a time. Ngā mihi nui!
